Overview

The Biafo Glacier is located in the Karakoram Range in the Gilgit Baltistan region of Pakistan at a height of 5,128 m from sea level. It stretches for a distance of approximately 63 kilometres in Nagar Valley from the Hispar Pass in the west to the Braldu Valley in the east. The glacier is known for its unique beauty, with vast stretches of ice flanked by towering peaks and rugged terrain. It's one of the longest glaciers outside the polar regions. Hispar La is basically a mountain pass in the Karakoram Range which connects the Hispar Glacier and the Biafo Glacier. It stands at a height of 5,128 m from the sea level and is one of the highest passes in the world. It provides a spectacular view of the surrounding peaks, including the famous peaks of the Karakoram Range like K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum peaks. Hispar La is often used as a trekking destination by trekkers and mountaineers which offers an unforgettable experience to mountain enthusiasts. Snow Lake was first discovered by Martin Convey in 1898. He named it Snow Lake and declared it as the best place to view the surrounding mountains of the Karakoram range. It is a high-altitude glacial basin in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan. It's famed for its stark, icy beauty. It is one of the world's largest basins of snow and ice outside the polar regions. Snow Lake serves as a starting point for treks to several surrounding peaks, including Spantik and Hispar.

Itinerary

After the member arrives in Islamabad from their places, they will be transferred to the hotel and allowed to rest and prepare for further travel on the next day.
In the morning flight from Islamabad to Skardu, we will leave. From the flight, we will reach Skardu by noon. In case of cancellation of a flight due to weather conditions or any other reason, we have arrangements to drive by road. We will reach Skardu in the next two days if case of travel by road. Our itinerary will be one day ahead of this case.
A day free in Skardu for documentation and other formalities. We may also visit some nearby places in Skardu for sightseeing after completing the formalities and we may have a glimpse of the beauty of Skardu.
In the early morning, we will leave for Askoli. The travelling medium will be a jeep. It will take 6 to 7 hours to reach Askoli.
we will start our trekking from Askoli to Namla. Trekking starts early in the morning to avoid the heat of the day. The trekking route includes Biafo Glacier and a spectacular sight of the pinnacles of Paju. This trek may take 6 to 8 hours.
Crossing the Biafo Glacier and some parts of the valley, we have to travel through rocky tracks to reach Mango. This trek may also take 6 to 7 hours.
Baintha is located at an elevation of 4,041 m from sea level. Today, we will start trekking to Baintha from Mango. The total time to reach Baintha takes up to 5 to 6 hours.
On this day, we will acclimatize at Baintha and rest here before travelling further. Here, you can go to see the nearing peaks if you feel energetic and want to explore. The Latok peaks are near to our camping site. You can hike to see Latok Peaks from near this day.
From Morfogoro to Baintha, it is not a track going upward so it will not be very hard for us to trek on the same level of earth. Morfogoro is at a height of 4,298m from sea level. In this 5 to 6-hour trek, we will also have panoramic views of Latok Peak.
Hispar La Base camp serves as the base camp for Hispar and Biafo Glacier as well as the base camp for Snow Lake. This camp lies at a height of 4,585 m from sea level. From Morfogoro it will take 5 to 6 hours to reach Hispar La base camp.
Hispar La is located at a height of 5,149 m from sea level. Today, we will start the trek from the base camp. After a few kilometres, we will reach the aesthetic Snow Lake. This place is considered the best place to view the surrounding mountain peaks. We will cross Snow Lake and continue our trek to Hispar La. By reaching Hispar La, we will accommodate here for a night in Camps.
Trekking back down to Khani Basa from Hispar La takes about 6 to 8 hours. So, we will start our trek early in the morning down to 4,468m. Crossing Khani Basa Glacial Junction we will camp in a grassy ablation valley just there.
Continuing our trek, we will descend to Jutmal which is at a height of 4,168 km. This day is going to be a long trekking day. We have to cross steep slopes, various glacial streams and rough terrains. At the end, we will camp in a grassy area in Jutmal.
7 to 8 hours of trekking from Jutmal to Bitnamal which is located at an elevation of 3,765 m above sea level. The track is not very challenging. Bitnamal itself is a meadow and in summer, local shepherds usually bring their cattle here.
Descending back down to Falaling Chhish which is at an elevation of 3,605 m, takes about 4 hours. We will have to cross a glacier as well to reach the beautiful grassy meadow of Falaling Chhish.
Hispar village will be our last camp. After this camp our trekking routes end and we will start driving. Hispar village is rich in scenic beauty.
Our Jeeps will be ready outside the camps for us in the morning. We will drive to Nagar Valley and from there, travelling from the Karakoram Highway, reach Karimabad. Here, we will check in the hotel and accommodate for one night.
Karimabad is a valley rich in Cultural beauty and Historical points. We have a day for sightseeing in different places in Karimabad. This day is also a contingency day in case of any possible delay during the trek.
Gilgit is at a distance of about 2 hours from Karimabad. We will drive to Gilgit in the morning before the flight occurs. Flight for Islamabad from Gilgit Airport typically occurs in the morning. So by noon, we will be in Islamabad. In case of cancellation of the flight due to weather issues or any other issue, we also have arrangements to travel by road. In this case, we will drive to Islamabad, through Karakoram Highway. You will be dropped off at the Hotel in Islamabad.
In case of any flight cancellation due to weather issues or any other issue, we will reach Islamabad this day. Otherwise, we can utilize this day to explore Islamabad. We will be having a farewell dinner in Skardu or Islamabad as well.
All members are free to go to their places. Our staff will transfer you all to the airport.

Terms & Conditions

1. Early Bird Discount:

The given prices are the discount offers for holidays and are limited. These prices may be changed accordingly. The local services providers and airlines as well as hotels increase prices in the season. So early reservation cost us less price.


2. Limited Space in Peak Months:

The peak months of the year attract a great amount of national and international tourists and hence sold out earlier. We will have a maximum of 15 travellers in one group. Our registration is on a first come first serve basis.


3. Limited Flight Seats:

We use the deposit to book your domestic flight in advance because domestic flight seats for the Himalayas and the Karakoram sell out very quickly in the peak season. Another reason is that there are only two flights in a day.


4. Pay Balance after arrival in Pakistan:

You may have concerns regarding paying your final balance. According to our policy, we receive your final balance only once you arrive in Pakistan. Deposit is the only Payment before arriving in Pakistan.


5. Pay Minimum Deposit:

The advance payment for the holidays also incorporates early bird discounts and may change automatically based on the late deposit schedule. The same dates in the schedule will be applicable for the next season's deposit as well.


Advance Deposit for Pakistani Nationals:

The advance deposit for Pakistani Nationals is PKR 100,000 or 30 % of the total price whichever is greater. The deposit amount is nonrefundable.


Extra Stays at Base Camp:

•For Extra Stays at base camp, extra charges will be charged.
01-04 pax US $ 130/. Per person per day
04-06 pax US $ 100/. Per person per day
06-08 pax US $ 90/. Per person per day
• If Government of Pakistan demands for any fee or new condition ensuing extra, the same will be charged in addition to normal Package offer.


• Reservations and Advance Payments:
For the confirmation of your reservation, you have to pay your advance into our account 50 days before the arrival of the group/ client in Pakistan. The rest of amount will be received once you arrived in Pakistan.

• Mountain Tigers Treks and tours
reserves the right to deduct, in respect of hotel reservation, confirmation of airline ticket, documentation and other necessary works which are being done before the arrival of client.

• 25% of the total amount will be deducted in case of cancellation in less than 15 days before the arrival date. If cancellation is made in less than 30 days, 10% of the amount will be deducted as in shape of paper works. Mountain Tigers trek and tours reserves this right.

• Anyone deciding to abandon after arrival, or may want to leave the trip during the expedition or tour, due to health issue or any other issue, will not be eligible for any refund. The same policy is applicable in case of entire group. If the group abandons or completes the trip early than the itinerary. No money will be refunded.


Refund Policy for All Deposit:

The deposited amount is non-refundable once it is paid. Because this amount will be spent in making all the arrangements. This deposited amount is also nonrefundable in case of Pakistani clients.


• Balance: Only pay the balance on the first day after arrival in Pakistan according to the Payment guidelines which will be shared later.


• Currency: International clients have the option to pay in US Dollar (USD). Or they may also pay in Euros (EUR) or Pound Sterling (GBP). Pakistani clients have the option to pay the equivalent amount in Pakistani Rupees (PKR).


• Single Supplement: Separate rooms will cost extra charge of 290 USD. This includes all hotel nights.


For separate tents, it will cost the extra charge of 180 USD including additional porterage cost. Both the payments must be made with the balance upon arrival
